“Island Icons”
In her first 2008 “Island Moments” special, Emme Tomimbang features a tribute to the legend of Hawaiian Music, Aunty Genoa Keawe with personal thoughts expressed by family and friends. “It’s Perry on the left and Price on the right!” Michael W. Perry and Larry Price share their radio experience at #1 for the past 25 years. Molokai’s Raiatea Helm talks about her growth both personally and professionally with the struggles and successes of breaking through in the music industry. In addition to the program is a new debut segment called “Island Expressions” which showcases student videos produced, shot, written and edited by today’s younger generation of film/video artists. This episode introduces a short video by students of Waianae High School.
